I fly my scout aiming to kill a miner or a con but I always carry a nan just in case. I can find alephs super fast by using the what shape do the alephs make method.
When I'm being chased by someone I immediately drop my missiles to lose sig, I also drop my shields if I need to.
Any do's and don'ts that you fly by?
Do you have any tips techniques to share?

If it can eye a vital con. Kill it.
If it can kill a miner with relative ease and its heading towards your mining sectors. Kill it.
If it makes the game go beserk with sounds and beeps, its probably bad. Kill it.
If it has a (#). Kill it. (NO EXCEPTIONS)
If an enemy run is to your *important base* and your in the same sector as said run (which is heading towards a camp) target the escort and Kill them. without them the run will swiftly be taken out regardless of how inept your team is.
If the player has an @BS tag. Kill it.
If the kb of a whore is above 32. Kill it.
If the kb of a bomber pilot is above 28. Kill it.
If the pod of weedman has decent kb. Kill it.
If they are bios and you have an int. Kill them all.(opening only)
If it can be cuddled. Kill it. Totally a trap on this kind of game.
If the target is @Alleg viciously hunt down said @alleg. Aka kill it. This does not apply on their hiders.
If a player is an oldie try to keep them playing as long as possible. So you may tempt them into playing alleg regularly again.
Aussies aren't as fun as they seem. NO EXCEPTIONS.
If one spams 'NI less than 3 times or more than 5. Kill it.

Slightly more serious, if the enemy are tf or rix i tend to be more on the defensive with miners. If a tf or rix scout is sighted within a sector of your miners rally some d. Just incase. Always check F6 to see who that scout is if its a newbie then dont worry, just ask some would-be whore who is keen to build some kb to kill it. When you see a real deadly pilot, thats when you call for the big guns.
Also if im being chased i tend to drop prox, turn so at least its between me and the persuing ship and rip. Dying isn't worth it.

As soon as you're podded hit F3. Try to spend most of the game in F3. There's just a TON more information in F3 that's available than in cockpit view... and 90% of your flying can be done just as well through autopilot anyways.
When you're commanding don't just figure out where you want THIS wave of cons to go, you should have a plan for the first THREE waves of constructors that come out.
Don't be afraid to go an unusual techpath. It might not be as good to be IC sup compared to IC exp, and you may not think Sup and Tac are a good mix, but sometimes that's the hand you're dealt.
When building constructors, PAY ATTENTION TO THE PLANE THE ROCKS ARE IN AND THE ALEPH YOU ARE COMING FROM. Constructors DO NOT turn very well and get a speed boost when they enter a sector, so try to pick a rock that's a straight line from where the con comes in from. It can save you a good 30 seconds on con placement to realize that the rock 3k in front of and in the same plane as the aleph is faster to build on than a rock that's 1k behind and below.
You mine to get money to kill enemy bases.
Sometimes you have to make a trade, and sometimes you want to make a trade. I could write an essay on the art of the sacrifice play, but rest assured it's not as simple as "Oh man why did we trade a bishop for a queen?" Food for thought: if you have ADV tech and your opponent doesn't, trading 2 of your miners for 1 of theirs is incredibly good.
Oh and above all:
WHEN IN DOUBT DON'T SHOOT

Don't find fault, find a remedy; anybody can complain.

I map capslock to forward thrust and hold it down so that I always maintain maximum speed and look cool when I chat.

I remapped capslock to shift capslock, so my cruise control and cool can be separate.
Code: Select all
