Like I said a long time ago, your freedom is restricted, and rightfully so, it's just a case of where you choose to draw the line.

Matter cannot be created or destroyed. Therefore, there is no such thing as a weapon of mass destruction. Everyone knows this, duh.

That just kicked off a thought.

I think Google will provide the solution to the gun problem.

Guns are fundamentally devices for accelerating small pieces of metal to high velocities. If we assume that society has a need for there to be occasionally small fast moving pieces of metal flying about, then really all that matters is choosing when, where and in which direction a piece of metal should be fired.
People are notoriously bad decision makers. Much like how cars would be safer driven by computers instead of people, guns should be controlled by computer too. Once Google's sorted the self driving car, they can move onto designing automated weapon platforms that can be deployed in locations where people sometimes desire there to be small fast moving pieces of metal flying about - their homes, streets, parks, shopping centres, schools etc.
That way society will be happy knowing that should the need for shots to be fired arrise, that need will be fulfilled, without human error.

Lol. Is that sarcasm madp? Your solution is to let computers handle everything? You're opening up a host of issues there. Not only can someone strike several people at once, they can do it from the safety of their own home and not even worry about when they're caught. You're actually making it easier for these things to happen.
