Wow kind of expected people to argue against it lol.
Anywho, I'm sure if no one wants to do it, it will never happen.
If there is someone out there that wanted to do it, they probably don't care what all the pundits think anyway.
There is actually a browser based game coming out with alot of depth and looks to have really good graphics called Heroes and Generals, although I'm sure it was probably like a 5 year project, so I don't see the harm in someone doing it if they thought it held water.
5 years from now the way things are going there won't be an allegiance being played with the client, so maybe a release to browser based would bring back life to it, who knows.
Browser Based small game Preview
They said that 10 years back. Ppl sill play.mcr040rcm wrote:QUOTE (mcr040rcm @ Nov 11 2012, 12:44 PM) 5 years from now the way things are going there won't be an allegiance being played with the client, so maybe a release to browser based would bring back life to it, who knows.
PS: Browser games generally suck.

That may be true and in the past it was very true, but with the unity engine games that are browser based are coming out that have better graphics than our game and have 100-1000 times more players on at any given time than our game does.
If I could program I would definitely do it myself.
Not going to cry about it if it doesn't get done.
The thing that makes players enjoy multiplayer games is having "multi"players so why not try a format in the future that is attracting players to games that otherwise would be uninstalled.
I promise you if Nplay.com/begone was client based they would have hardly anyone playing it, but in the browser 1000s of players play it all the time.
Granted my computer is old. But I've tried that BG thing twice and it locked up my computer solid both times. Anyone with a newer computer might like it, but then they have to pay for it and there are a lot of other games that will run on new computers. I think to of our best selling points are "runs on old machines" and "totally free".
If the You tube vids and those selling points aren't enough for them, they probably won't make it past the learning curve anyways.

the future and what "we" are working on is more something like this(the technology behind this web page not the game itself).
something made with a new upcoming tool/site similar to these ones:
http://playcanvas.com/ or https://turbulenz.com/
but it's a way too soon to say more...
if you want to test if your (old) hardware can handle this type of games, try http://from-dust.ubisoft.com/ (you'll need a modern browser, I recommend Chrome)
