I'm just trying to get you to realize that this "with us or against us" attitude is going to scare off newbies and make those that aren't in the "with us" category go away. It's perfectly fine for someone to only play once a week or once a month. Hell, it's perfectly fine for someone to play any time they want no matter how large or small the gap is.

I enjoy playing Pokemon. I play Pokemon when I want to play Pokemon. Sometimes I want to play Magic, sometimes I want to play Go. I'm sure that I am not the only person that plays several things and enjoys them all. I haven't played Super Mario World in about a year, but I am sure that should I ever want to play it, it will be there. That is what a game is. A game is not life. A game is a temporary distraction.

You people that insist that everyone has to either play Allegiance (with an implication of "very frequently") or leave are like Jehovah's Witnesses. What, soon it'll be too late? Allegiance will be dead by then? Maybe the Allegiance YOU know will be dead, but if someone wants to play the game, it will be here for them. And they'll have to find their own way to make fun of it.

I don't think you can just keep some squads and expect others to die/get out of the way.. you have to agree that all existing squads die out and completely new squads form, where membership is somehow organized so that the squads have some sort of skill-parity.

Basically balance (the completely new, not the current) squads like they're factions xD

Not saying this could ever work, just that it would create the ideal environment for competitive squad games. It would be a very bitter pill to swallow for most players.

I like that idea. And I agree that any sort of consolidations or re-constitution of squads would be a bitter pill for some people, albeit an obviously necessary measure.

A lot of the remaining players seem to be in that mode of resisting any change whatsoever when it comes to re-imagining squads and that's damn shame. The squad rosters will continue to bleed because of this apathy.

It doesn't help that MrC quit.. TE quit.. pretty much everyone with the means to effect change has quit except pkk and he appears to be one of the apathetic ones (but not when it comes to dev).

EDIT:

Another option might be to immediately go down to 2 squads... We evenly assign active players based on rank a number.. 1 or 2 and that is their squad. Balancing the two squads may come about through a defined number of trades allowed per month, with players able to voice their wishes to leave 1 to go to 2 or vice versa. Again, this is not a perfect solution but it's another option for us to spin our wheels over since we HAVE NO LEADERSHIP CAPABLE OF DOING ANYTHING BESIDES DEVELOPMENT OR PAYING THE BILLS.

imo, there should only be two squads. Call 'em whatever you want. They are brand new so lets get a couple sl's for 'em, start pickin' teams, stfu, and play.

Random idea:

Make it a bit interesting, have each squad pick 4 factions each and those factions would be their exclusive, they can't fly the other four in the game.

Then maybe we'd have epic balance threads again (ahh good old days)

Want bigger games? Log on to play at the official game time: 9pmET/8pmCT/7pmMT/6pmPT every day of the week. Also Saturdays 8pm UTC.

This is "with us" or "against us". There is only one way that you can help to keep allegiance alive
Quiz:
[A] Post demotivating @#(! on to forum with the single purpose that everyone knows that allegiance is dead. Focus on trashtalking optimists.
Play.
If you pick (and execute) the correct answer i don't care how much bull@#(! you post here.. i will respect you.

I don't see what is wrong with my attitude... I don't see how i scare away newbies ingame. I don't care if i scare away newbies who don't play.
P.S.: I will play 1hr/day avg until the end of the weak. Talk to me there if you want something like an excuse.

#1 install windows
#2 install allegiance
#3 enjoy playing.

There are reasons for linux but since grub supports multiple OS i see no problem.
I for example don't even use grub. I use virtual PC + linux for programming.
