This is popping up on Facebook. The answer is being noted as 1 or 9. I know the answer, its annoying how many people dont.

Hint, the answer isnt 1.

Hint: BEDMAS was taught in grade 3.

And IIRC the DMAS part of it was taught in grade 2 or 1...

It's taught as BODMAS over here. The stupidity seems to lie in people following PEMDAS. They cant seem to comprehend that Multiplication and Division rank the same and are following the breakdown letter by letter.

$#@!, if I vaguely remember something my teachers tried to teach me and I stubbornly ignored, aren't you supposed to multiply the 2 to the (1+3) separately, thereby creating 6/(2+4), then obviously parenthesis are worked out to the 6/8 that my mathematical betters pointed out?

Creating 0.75.
