I love watching stuff plow through mines now.

On an unrelated note, Zapper's grampa chip will not stop transmitting what its data input from 1927 was.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

cool, but i think the multiple explosions in one clip are a little over kill (allegiance seems to play several of these at a time).

i'm also not sure on the colours, but whether that's because i'm used to std allegiance explosions.

one seems to be used for mines, i still get the white flashes a little, but not as much now, people seem to get these explosions when they fly through mines too now (i think)

These explosions are really pretty amaizing. Carriers blowing up look really sweet.

have you tried 32 frames, the original explosion textures are 2048*64

2048/64 = 32

so 32 may be the max since 30 worked, but 40 didn't
oh maybe not, one had 38 frames (2432*64)

also, what defines the size of an explosion?

for others reference, can anyone name these

exp20 - missiles explosion smoke

exp22 - ship explosion

exp23 - probes and ships

exp24 - mine field explosions?

exp25 - ship explosion, also used for base explosion?

While I love the explosions, it seems to me there's some slight physics problems. And please don't hold me to a standard of accuracy....just think about it.

1. Space is a near vacuum, and i assume that any gases from an explosion in space would either continue at the rate of explosion or even accelerate. This expansion would also cause a rapid cooling of the gases, so any light given off by hot gases left by an explosion would dissipate very quickly.

2. For the second of yp's explosion, you can see stuff expelling from the center for nearly a whole second. I was under the impression that most explosions involved gases instantaneously expanding all at the same time.

And I'm guessing that no explosion in space has been video taped.
