FYI I am not afraid to ban the balls off a noob if I deem it necessary, done it before and I'll do it again.

If I'm not on Alleg, I will be on IRC/Steam or I'm just plain offline. All you gotta do is bump me.

Edit:

AND if nobody is online to enforce, then you note the time and server and send a whiney PM to Beer and he will retro ban whoever it is if necessary.

So you have identified all the problems about fwiffo proceed to state it but then do nothing.

You can start training your own army of newbs and mold them the way you want, nobody can stop you from doing that except yourself. You are giving up without even trying when you say "as if I would be allowed to train anyone for anything". That's what everyone says about you, and you simply accept it. Maybe you are happy with it, but if you aren't then why do you simply accept it?

I may not know you that much Masta, but I know deep down you do all this with good intentions (in your own crazy ways) otherwise you would simply quit. Perhaps you do it for the game, perhaps for the people you used to play with and have fond memories of, whatever the reason don't just stop at stating what is obvious to you now, go ahead and do something. I for one would be glad to see another way of thought, another way of training, this would create competitiveness from the early process of learning and I'm sure fwiffo would be glad to have some benchmark to see how effective his training is compared to someone else's.

Who watches the watchmen?

Public opinion isn't it?
Perhaps have protected polls where community can vote on/against @Allegs?

What would be easier, training players to be good commanders, or just making a core that even an idiot could command sufficiently?

Plus I'm too busy winning.
I stopped by tonight. didnt see you win a game. Maybe you just lose when I'm around.

I did see fwiffo pod you in your heavy int with a bomber though.
I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

QUOTE RETAINING AND TRAINING COMMANDERS IS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR THIS GAME'S WELL-BEING[/quote]

I disagree.

I think you are trying to say is that good commanders keep the games interesting, so un-noob players have a reason to keep playing. While this is important, it is not the most important thing.

I think the most important thing is the attraction and retention of noob players, which will stick around and become voobs and vets, thus making the game more interesting for the un-noobs.

I think our dev team is more important then good commanders right now.

We will never be able to replace all our current past veterans with equally good new recruits.
The more noobs we gain at the expense of vets the more this game just gets bad.

Why do you think it's in expense?
