I'm pretty sure Jimmy intentionally writes things in German and uses Google Translate to badly translate things just so everything he posts is confusing instead of just posting in English which he's more than capable doing in a coherent fashion.

You can set YOUR forum timeclock to whichever time zone suits you better. Just use the forum settings.

I suggested "Allegiance Time" a long time ago, no much interest in it. I think the academy had the time on it at one time, but it might have just been the local time of the user which isn't much use.

If anything I'd suggest a little real-time UTC clock above the users online box on http://www.freeallegiance.org/forums/index.php?act=home and use utc for all SGs (optionally calling it allegiance time instead of utc).

Not a good idea - It won't be popular + you would have to post to find out what the current time is (unless you look at a post you posted which you know the time you posted it and do the maths, but then you may as well just do the maths on the posted SG time anyway).

There is no point in creating an "Allegiance Time". It will end up being more complicated (deciding which timezone to use as reference), especially when DST kicks in (will Allegiance Time have DST?).

The simplest way would be using GMT for scheduling events. If they say an event is at 20:00 GMT, and you live for example, at GMT-5 (and in summer you are GMT-4)... man... you don´t need to be a rocket scientist to do the math...

Actually, the problem is bigger when you use a random timezone as a reference. For example, right now we use NYT (New York Time) as a reference for squadgames. But NYT changes its time twice a year due to DST. Where I live in, also has DST, but DST kicks in at a different date compared to NY. So, for me, squadgames change time like 4 times a year. Isn´t it nuts??? ;)

We failed on using Swatch internet time, we failed to use UTC (GMT).

Why? Because some people are to lazy to use UTC.

That actually supports my point of view about not creating an Allegiance Time... If people were lazy to use UTC (which is a recognized standard), imagine if they have to use an Allegiance Time...

We currently use SGT (Squad Game Time), which is New York Time (EST or EDT). ;)

I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday
