guys, despite each week's topic, regular trainings are happening on a nightly basis. that is, all you have to do is show up around the time when i play and utter the words "I NEED AFS TRAINING" and automagically, i and other afs trainers will be there to assist.

my personal playing times are around 9pm-12midnight PST (varies) for a more accurate depiction, see my app here just do a search for fwiffo, default timezone is gmt unless you shift it to something else.

back on topic. this week we will learn/practice how to keep a constructor from building. ever been in a situation where a outpost or teleport constructor is already on the rock and wish you were able to delay it?

in this training we will explore the peculiarities of the constructors ai and how to exploit it to your advantage. we'll learn which constructors are considered "large" and which are "small". when and where should you ram the constructor. and how to do it w/o podding yourself on it on the first try!

this training starts tonight and will run nightly until the end of week (friday). that gives you three nights to take pick up this useful knowledge that you will 100% make use of in regular games.

ahh niunia we missed you! we had like 8 trainees come by and we even had a contest on who can keep the con rammed the longest

dont worry, we will run the same training again tomorrow night and the night after that so you have TWO more chances left!

to get the MOST out of training, pls download mumble and install it

here is step by steps instructions

and a look ahead for next weeks topic: AIMING
we will be recruiting some vet topgun pilots who will show off their evasive maneuvers as they try to stay alive the longest while newbies in turrets try to shoot them down
newbies will get superior turret practice (aim) and if we have time, we'll have a chase the gopher game... more details to follow (next week)

I missed all, due to my need for sleep :) Training starts at 6ap here, I go to sleep around 2-3am after I stop playing Alleg :)

But, I did pick up the ramming technique from some veteran a few days ago. The key is constant, but slow colliding with the con. Shields are not required :)

And Babel showed me the basics of proxing in dogfight yesterday :)

ive found that the constant slow colliding method isnt as effective as well timed semi hard ram that cause the con to spin around the longest (rather than 1-2 second spins from regular rams on the side)

the idea is to line yourself up so that the con is btwn you and the rock and just as it becomes perpendicular to the rock, you ram it into the rock on its butt.. that causes the con to go into the rock before it is ready to plant and forces it fly back out and spin a few times.

give it a shot and we can practice together outside of reg scheduled training
