The community has suggested a Memorial Wall be put into place to commerate well known players who have passed away. The initial discussion can be found here
Responsiblities:
As lead you will build concensus within the community on the details of establoishing a memorial wall. Ensure the project moves forward in a tinely fashion, and the results are of the highest quality given the task itself.
Qualifcations:
A clear command of the English language in written form
A desire to perform the task
ZL Champion:
Given the Documentation ZL position was recently vacated and the duties have not been reassigned I will take on the champaign role if no other ZL offers in the next ten days.
Boiler Plate
Please respond only with an offer to perform the task, do not debate the topic here, do not derail, and ANY PMs of an offer will be posted as an actual applicatiion for the position. The ZL, unless they volunteer, is not there to do the work for you, nor are they there to run the project in their ZL capacity. They are there to make sure the project moves forward, get you the resources you need, advise on the details if needed, and if nessecary start the process of removing you from the position.

Does it have to be its own webpage, or can it happen on the wiki?

The first idea was to be on the wiki, or with a direct link at the main FAO.badp wrote:QUOTE (badp @ Feb 3 2012, 05:54 AM) Does it have to be its own webpage, or can it happen on the wiki?

Volunteer makes the call.
First we get a lead
Then we get the person a ZL to help and guide
The discussion moves to that area of the forum with an update given, when appropriate ( this project shouldn't require the efforts or timeline of say CSS ) on the landing page.
The discussion and details take place there (rather in the recruitment thread)
This project is a special one and the details are a little more open to the lead on how to get it implemented. If you cannot do the all stuff yourself that is absolutely fine, then put together a workplan for implementing it. Then you, me and the ZL will get them for you... as long as it is reasonable
I'd like to see this one get filled soon, it is the one that matters most to me atm.

OK. Ran through the rest of the forum.
I don't think the Wiki is an appropriate medium for a memorial, it feels crass in my opinion.
A lot of work to be done. I think Inside-Out would be the perfect map for a dedicated wall to the fallen. Their is a mixed feeling about personal messages to the departed and it's not anyone's place to filter mourning and tributes of respect.
A dedicated webpage is a lot more touchy IMO but done right would be commendable.
It is in my opinion dedicated piece of art dedicated to OP, Titty, and TJ embedded in code feels right.
Should it be a unique map*? Is this static object a possibility? Please let me know if I'm leaving anyone out!
*Maybe we could design a map with the Alleg. anarchy symbol.
I can't do anything without feedback, so please speak freely. Yes I am volunteering for this and no I cannot do it alone.

Just a thought... how about an honor roll embedded in, say, an HE3 asteroid image? It'd appear in every sector of every map (normally) and it'd kinda be like an Easter egg of sorts.
