Star Wars: The Old Republic
not interested at all in the PvP elements of the game, that is a level of WoW like dedication I just don't give a @#(! about. Honestly the whole game requires too much time. Even though it doesn't feel that much like the horrible grinding that can occur, the "go here, kill this" pattern was a little repetitive.
honestly what I really REALLY hate, is that there are going to be hundreds of thousands of millions of f***ing lifeless scrubs grinding it out and f***ing the curve up. I don't have the time, I don't have schedule, and I don't have the dedication.
In the THREE days I played the beta, I pissed off my wife, barely kept up with my friends leveling, and lost efficiency at work as well as sleep.

I have yet to try hutt ball. But I'd agree that the game is just generally awesome. Still sort of regretting being on a PvP server -- apparently my next planet is a contested planet and I'm gonna find myself in some PvP situations -- but whatevs. Keep me on my toes =PEtan wrote:QUOTE (Etan @ Dec 27 2011, 10:16 PM) I rolled inquisitor on Bergeren Colony. almost 25. So far this game is awesome. the first flashpoint black talon was amazing. And hutt ball is just ridiculously addiciting xD

mine is a RP pve server. so i can nerd rage about how stupid dark side healing powers are and how they shouldnt exist and people half understand lol. Idk exactly how that pvp will work for you but i know people have been saying it is severly lacking and that pvp might as well not exist at this point. So maybe it wont be a big issue for you. They just nerfed the rewards from warzones but i still get about 8.5k xp a game losing. and they give you stat boosts to help compete in them so its a pretty decent way to get xp if you get bored of the side quests. So far ive just been telling the quests that i dont like to shove it and im keeping up with the world lvls. Honestly the story is what makes this game for me cant wait to go through them all xDBacon wrote:QUOTE (Bacon @ Dec 28 2011, 01:27 AM) I have yet to try hutt ball. I will reiterate:
It seems this is a single player game... and the only defense players have for its multiplayer aspects seem like a crappy version of an FPS playtype.
Why would you support this game with monthly subscriptions?

I don't want that time to be a @#(!-storm of hate and schadenfreude.

Malice it is def a single player game with MMO overtones. You can group, but most of the story content is solo-able almost to a fault. They have "heroic" missions which require you to group (unless you want to level higher than the mission and come back later to do them, although then the rewards will be useless as you'll have out-leveled them). The flashpoints, though, are very good. Way more involving and exciting than most MMO dungeon fair. I personally like the conversations, but most people start screaming "spacebar past it" when the dialog kicks in. I'm not quite sure why people want to skip the story, but I guess that's the fashionable thing to do! I haven't done some of the higher level Flashpoints yet, and by this point I would imagine most people have. So I'm anticipating that when I finally do do them, I won't be able to enjoy the story because everybody will be "spacebaring past" all the dialog because they've seen it 10 times already. Oh well...
