Yep a number of times but not as a resident thank goodness but as a do gooder. I also volunteer to teach reading too. Trust me it doesn't make me any kind of saint or better of a person then the next man/woman/furry no no I'm better then a furry for sureHeyoka wrote:QUOTE (Heyoka @ Oct 23 2011, 05:28 AM) Have you ever been in a homeless shelter Mr.C?
The point is, my man, not about the have nots who think sleeping in the open with only a plastic drop cloth is BETTER then a shelter ( that is simply heart breaking) but the protestors who can't find a thing to actual protest about or anything to fix except SOMEONE
Why does my nose seem so bent out of shape (and being so large it is quite impressive let me tell you) on this one? The almost criminal $#@!ing cluelessness of the particpants to having any goal or plan. In a nutshell the orginators knew better then to stand for anything cause then they couldn't be attacked for it. This allowed the media's every day is crisis type of style to ratchet things up until the clueless could shamble down to wall street in search of hairy armpit pussy and a chance to be cool.

I can see your point about the protesters.
Many of them are just plain idiots. But as I've said, you don't have to be an idiot to know that something is terribly wrong.
I am glad to see people angry, and protesting, and causing a ruckus. I am glad that they are attempting to get the attention of the government and of big business/ rich people. Would I prefer them to be completely organised, educated, goal oriented, and well groomed? Yes. But unfortunately a vast majority of the planet doesn't fit that criteria.
I also think it is rather difficult at this point to find any one thing wrong worth protesting about. There is so much that is so $#@!ed up that the list of things I want to yell at people whilst I pace up and down the street, is quite long.
Also, having a protest that is in the name of restructuring the Government and the way business in general is run, is borderline Treason and would likely be suppressed heavily.
I am glad that people are doing something, rather than pretending that things are okay, or that anything can be done by voting.
Really, our only option is revolution. This is a step on the way there.
That's the way I see it anyway.
As far as the homeless thing goes, I've spent a night in a homeless shelter once before. I can say that I would much rather hang out with a bunch of generous hipsters than those that I encountered.
I have zero problems what so ever with your original article.
I must add that I am very glad that you have volunteered before Mr.C. I generally respect you and your opinion and I enjoy debating with you. Though sometimes I fear that I just may be more insane than YOU are...which is frightening...

the sign says: 'we are white collar', i think. As in: we work office jobs, and not manufacturing - blue collar- jobs.Death3D wrote:QUOTE (Death3D @ Oct 23 2011, 01:28 PM) Taking a page out of the spanish I see. For some reason I think this will discredit the protests. eg. Main pic: "We are white color". Best of (innitial) intentions...

current version r158 new beta as of jan 23 2012It is a term to emerge from the early days of the auto industry. Origionally it was meant to signify your job type. Blue collar workers made the vehicles and maintained the machines while the white collar designed it and watched over things in the plant. There was a ton of anomosity between the makers of the vehicle and those who were charged with making sure it got made. Although the skills tradesmen and the design staff in the office much less so. It was not always with open arms that a family who had men who worked on the line welcomed a white collar in-law into the mix of things.Bunnywabbit wrote:QUOTE (Bunnywabbit @ Oct 23 2011, 09:32 AM) the sign says: 'we are white collar', i think. Now it means ANYONE who isn't in a manufacturing job... which now pretty means everyone in the US. Total ineffectual way to make a distinction in a nutshell.
My generation's thoughts!
Pretty $#@!ing similar huh.
Im here to tell you that as a nation those just coming of age are better off then my generation at the same age, even in these times. Why aren't I out there burning the mother $#@!er down? I S-T-I-L-L don't have the time to waste on something that is nothing more than mental masturbation. I've got house payments Im upside down on to pay, a retirement plan to refill, and free overtime to work just to keep a job I make less then say five years ago.
Im reading how the rest of the country, that just recently in a ludicrious fit of holier-then-thou threw @#(! at my hometown, state, and industry is "rooting" for us now. Meh whatever, glad you got a clue when you ended up in the same boat. When it is time to fix things and stop whining about them call me. Tell then Im sitting at home where it is warm and still mine
Im a Gen Xer from Detroit. Deal with it and my attitude

edit: So I don't have a self professed crazy person from the southwest at my door. The yous are for the gen pop and not him. "Pretty $#@!ing similar huh" WAS meant for him. ~yp glad to clear that up.
Toot! Toot! Time to go the train is pulling in the station Wooooooooooooooooot! Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot! Woooooooooooooooooot!
