Rugby World Cup 2011
To be fair the goal-kicking in other games hasn't been great though. Better than Eng - Argentina, but still not great.

I'm not sure I understand the scoring completely
CODE
The actual score was Wales 17 - 10 Samoa
User Home - Away Points Total Pts Rank
Raveen 21 - 15 20 231 3
HSharp 22 - 15 20 190 7
Ion 22 - 10 19 232 2
Ion is closer then me (and Raveen) but scores less points?
EDIT: Blargh, im stupid, I get how it works now, but still feel sorry for Ion who was technically more correct then me and Rav

This is because the prediction of margin of victory is considered more important than the individual scores. It was a 7 point win as you predicted, Ion predicted a 12 point win, so you did better than him. I think this works fairly well but if you want to suggest something different then go ahead...HSharp wrote:QUOTE (HSharp @ Sep 18 2011, 07:52 PM) EDIT: Blargh, im stupid, I get how it works now, but still feel sorry for Ion who was technically more correct then me and Rav
I think this goes back to me implementing some sort of automated reminder service for people. Though I would recommend doing all your predictions up front and then changing them as we go through the competition.Vortrog wrote:QUOTE (Vortrog @ Sep 18 2011, 09:21 PM) $#@!ing 3rd round overlaps with 2nd and I missed picking 3 games
Wish you would have called your rounds 'weeks' instead and had all games for the week in the tab
I would have picked samoa over wales anyway but meh to the other easy point results
Also I wouldn't call them "weeks" as that's not strictly true either. The last match of the 3rd set and the first match of the 4th set are on the same day. In fact England play twice in what I've called the 3rd set of matches... grrr, those match schedulers just don't think of people like me trying to split the competition up into nice sizes....
As for the World Cup itself, the QF and SF lineup now looks like it could be Northern Hempisphere vs. Southern Hemisphere & whoever is 2nd out of England/Scotland/Argentina. A big opportunity for whoever can step up to the plate.

How many yards offside was Contemponi again??! The best team lost that game, though as a half-Scot I am biased, as are you. There really wasn't much in it though, and if Parks had landed that drop-goal, my prediction would've been exactly right.
Still got 10 points though.
QUOTE seems like gandy could become the run away winner at the current rate ha ^_^[/quote]
Well there are a lot of silly predictions going in, especially in the big team vs. minnow matches. For example, this one. 23-12 Ion? Seriously?? Anyhow the knockout matches are double-points so it's not over yet.
