I've been using that nice Asus Eee Pad Transformer thing for 2 months now and I'm quite happy with it (But I never use the hardware keyboard so I don't recommend it, just the tablet is enough)
A lot of people keep saying the 'killer app' for tablets is still missing, I'd say the killer app is already there, it's the internet browser! This thing rocks so much to browse the web that I barely use my PC for this anymore. Tablets are great to 'consume' the web.
I started toying with the Android SDK too and I might do some Alleg related stuff on tablets soon but using the Native SDK (NDK) since I'm a bit allergic to Java
Anyone interested in testing Alleg stuff on tablet ?
You'll need a Tegra2 tablet I guess ( IPad users plz go away and rethink why you bought a 'toy tablet for dummies' )
Also if you have Alleg related ideas for tablets , plz do post. For now I was thinking of using the tablet as either an input device (some kind of advanced controller but the wifi latency might not allow this) or a secondary display (for those who don't have multiple monitors) or both !
Tablets
Heh, funny you came along with this. I have been toying with Android development recently and had a few ideas for Apps.
One of the main ones was a forum app, XDA Dev has a great app to sign in and browse/post on the forum via the app, it allows you to also favourite forums/threads. This would work beautiful for allegiance forum junkies on a Tablet or PDA/Smartphone, especially if you include an online list and other features you could think up.
Unfortunately I ditched my tablet a few months back since I wasnt really using it much lol. So I cant help with the testing.
