I just joined the TF2 bandwagon.
I'm pretty decent after a mere 12h of playing, obviously I'm cheating by not being a 5 year old prick... you can't blame me though, the last time I was 5 the year 1984 was in the future...

Anyhow, I'm effing tired of pubs, especially ones in my zone (Israel) where you can find games of 24 people on a 12 player map, and still no medics...
I'm not looking for competitive games, just closed games with decent settings and basic teamwork (as in not having to tell the engie to put TPs and dispensers wher other players can use them).

My Steam ID is Spinoza_SF_ and I'm in the AGC group of course.

Try the ATF pub server. It's very strict on rules, but extraordinarily well run. More like old Pook style.

Finding servers without IP is a bitch... someone recommended a server to me by name and I found the wrong one and it was awful...

There are plenty of "pub" servers where you can get decent games imo.

Obviously though the quality of public games has dropped considerably since they made it free to all.

You'd think that... but I think quite a few of the noobs I've seen are old timers.
The influx of newbies may have prompted bad behaviour from veteran players... why be a medic when you can backstab or rocket juggle noobs?

Interestingly the average TF2 servers at the moment resemble the average Alleg. PUG game more than ever.

Huge disparity in skill between new and older players.
A number of players despairing the low quality.
Others just whoring on the newer players.
Players frequently pick the wrong class ending up with horrible unbalanced mixes of ships/classes on the team.


Both still fun though.
