I used to have to go through a very busy roundabout every day to and from work, and in 4 years I was hit something like 3 or 4 times (never seriously, just a bump) and narrowly avoided like 20 accidents.

Where I am now, the local Council seems to think that building roundabouts so high that you can't see other traffic entering them makes them "safer".

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

That is the best quote EVAR. Add a few "dude"'s and it could have come out of the mouth of John Goodman's character in The Big Lebowski.

We don't have hipsters in the Twin Cities yet. Their funny clothing is winter-impractical.

There are hardly any roundabouts in Germany. They are being introduced, but they are scarce. Since most people don't know how to use them (signal when you intend to leave), I probably prefer the usual traffic light controlled intersections.

This why Americans are wary of them not for some intellectual bs like the idiot reporter quoted by Rav. Drove through them in San Diego every day. They were still rare as hell just luck of the drive. Wasn't a busy area but I see no advantage and it just felt less safe.

Big Lebowski indeed Bard. The reporter what a maroon

I forgot to say on my previous post - I've taken my pocket knife on an airplane a couple of dozen times. One time the security guy on the x-ray picked it up, opened it, and then closed it and put it back.
