im wonderng if im too late for the current cadet II... think I'm ready to move on, although I had a chance to attend only one AFS session I have learnt alot by myself and had quite a substantial ammount of help from vets (dont remeber who was it but one of them even spent some time with me and other (X)'s who were on at the time in dogfight match giving tips and such, it was quite fun)... at the moment im pretty comfortable in a scout avoiding being seen and occasionally even killing figs with proxes (although those victims I've managed to pod were themselves not too far from novice rank), tried piloting most of the ship classes in game except cap (but already know how much time I got under fire of one ;P )... the only thing I think I need is learning Alleg jargon but that should come eventually anyway since im doin at least one match per day... my accuracy is a bit lousy still too

Do the self assessment test. If that is ok, go on
AFAIK U r too late for the current course as they only allow one week late for joiners. But sign up for the next one asap, the sooner YOU sign the less I have to wait, y'know? Entirely in my own self interest to encourage you, you see. When there are enough candidates we will be notified. In the meantime you can continue learning on your own, so this allows less time wasted all round.
Question to the vets: How many candidates do you need to run another CDT course? How many are already on board?

Cadet II is more structured and goes into greater game detail.
As for numbers, I don't think there's a strict minimum number - but something like ten is the minimum. Cadet II benefits greatly from a critical mass of participants who are actively posting, asking and answering questions, etc. One post leads to another and so on.

There are enough applicants to start a new course when the current CDT II course finishes. (it's currently in week 4/7)
CDT II is organised as a series of weekly lessons which spotlight a specific Tactic or part of flying. The intention is that you practice those strategies more in the specific week.
You are also invited to observe squad games, to see high level play close up.
There are also forum based discussion questions so people can get involved, and questions threads like you find in here.

Cadet offers:
- weekly reading material focusing on one aspect of the game each
- quizzes and discussion questions
- the opportunity to discuss your observations and questions
- an introduction to squads and the world of squadgames
- a voluntary exam, so you can prove, that you are ready for joining a squad
We have currently 8 applicants. Considering the usual drop-out rate I expect ~5 of them attending the next course. We aim for a class size of more than 10, as you need this critical mass to get discussions going and the course depends on proactive participatio of the students. So at the current situation it looks like I will start the new course right after the acutal one finishes in about 4-5 weeks.

I played for about a week non-stop, i am now (5), i can reliably win dogfights vs people of my level, i hope i understand how to scout and probe, but that i cannot be sure, well, answered the quiz too (all pages). So, will my app be accepted into Cadet II?
Btw, is AFS also an in-game training?
Btw, is it catered for Americans? I mean, i heard about 'sessions' but will they be done for people of different GMTs? I am from Russia, GMT+4.
