OK.
So you've read all the AFS materials, and you want to know just that bit much more about what's going on, what different techs are, and slightly more advanced techniques/topics and other info.
For a good overview of the differences between factions, the different ships, stations and techpaths - the AllegianceAcademy should be your first port of call.If you suck at allegiance, and really need to get better, try juckto's caustic lessons on how to improve. Witty and informative, a good read which will improve many aspects of your game. Some time ago - Lawson produced a selection of training videos, which allow one to view aspects of games - these are always worth a look. For an irregularly produced overview of events in the Allegiance community, with interviews of various prominent members of said community - you could do far worse than check out Sai Soma's podcasts.
Anyhoo - I hope you all find these links useful, and that they provide a little more info. on how to be a decent pilot around here.....Of course - a number of these are covered by the wiki's training index, so mosey on over there if you haven't already.
See you in space guys!
Further reading/viewing.....
I've just been reminded by the Bump of Spidey'sFRAPS thread. Worth checking out for some in-game footage from some quality squad games. Some of the older videos that were linked to in the thread may be no longer hosted, so it may be worth starting at the end of the thread and working back through the videos.

Seymour has just Posted a pretty decent overview of various Fighting ships tactics - may be worth checking out
Check out the newFRAPs of one of the 10th Anniversary games from last weekend....
New jucktos lesson posted - check it out.....notjarvis wrote:QUOTE (notjarvis @ Nov 28 2009, 11:20 PM) If you suck at allegiance, and really need to get better, try juckto's caustic lessons on how to improve. Witty and informative, a good read which will improve many aspects of your game.
LANS has created a video about the best way to prox Alephs.
It's on youtube here
I suggest you watch it in the maximum allowable resolution to see best what's happening.

All of the links that point to a thread or post on the forums fail to load for me. This is probably related to the lack of boards listed on the forum index.
EDIT: Apparently I missed the validation email. Things are working well now.

May I suggest linking/Stickying the commanding for dummies topic as well?
It makes for an excellent overview for what your comm is doing/may be planning as well. Prior to reading that I had no idea of the basic strategies of the game, so it helped me very much understanding the basic flow of the game.
Edit: I missed that topic as I automatically disregarded all things ACS as too advanced.
So, Newbies: Visit the training index and check out the public materials for commanding as well as you will better understand what is going on.
