Moding Allegiance client

Hy all,

I have installed CortUI mod already, and its looking good everything is fine, till I come to the point where I want to change reticule. Anyone have got any idea why the generic reticule is still showing even after me pasting downloaded one into the Alleg/Artwork forlder ? Maybe I've overlooked some important topic about modding...

You have to unzip the files and put them into the artworkfoldr (not into a folder inside the artworkfolder). If you did it right you will be asked, if you want to replace the existing files.

did exactly that, tried downloading other reticules same result, standard reticule is still there

just for the hek of it I even deleted those two files from Alleg/Artwork folder completely, that did not have any visible effect as well

im lost

You have Allegiance installed in two places, and are modding files in the non-active installation?

searched for that too to make sure and only one copy of Alleg found on disk
just before reticle and CortUI I've installed couple of other modes like asteroid planets and enviros all of those fitted in nicely and showing ingame, thats why I got confused so much bout stupid reticle that just wouldnt change no matter what i try (had to be the only thing that i really wanna change, i think i c what ppl mean when saying that the original is obscuring the view)

sorry to bother you guys, fresh install saved me... probably last client install wasnt very lucky specially with me marking around with the files

If you come up against this in the future - it may be that your artwork files were packed up by allegiance (it compresses some together if you choose to to improve loading rates..

To change your reticle/stuff ensure the game option "Use Texture Pack" is off before updating them.

I am running into similar problems.

CortUI SE crashes my alleg install. The only other mod is the reticule. Which does not seem to show. Texture pack is off. I reinstalled twice with the same result.
I am on the laptop atm, so cannot post the crash log right now.

BTW tip for modding. Do your Joystick setup,log on, update to latest online fileset, then pack the whole basic Alleg install into a zip. Saves bandwidth if you are metered. Just be sure to reinstall to the same location. And delete the old one before reinstalling. I keep Alleg in the root of the drive just to be safe. By that I mean the alleg folder, not the subfolders. Ie K:\Alleg in my case.

Did you get Cort UI from here? as its the latest

If not try that one. If you did and that's still causing problems - I suggest you start a problem ticket or see if it's already fixed.....
