It has happened several times now that I get kicked back to the root of the forums (Index page) after posting.

Am I dawdling and subject to a timeout? I post fairly slowly. Since Alleg Flight school is buried deep it is a bit of a pain, but nothing that will make me shoot my computer. Thanks in advance for feedback

This has happened on 2 different laptops with different specs, so I am puzzled. Your comments are appreciated, thanks.

That doesn't sound normal. There's no time-out thing that I'm aware of.

Might be some niggly issue with your forum account (that's a guess) but I can't imagine what might be doing that.

In the years since we moved to IPB I can't recall hearing of anything like that ONCE.

Any chance you've got some wacky cookie settings or some sort of website blocking going on?

No. Default Opera with standard settings.. Standard Windows 7 Firewall, or XP on the other machine. With the netbook I usually disable pictures download, perhaps that is the culprit? Otherwise I enable cookies, Javascript etc. No proxy, I am on a bare machine.

The chances are also great it is simply my ISP randomly disconnecting me whenever they please, or losing the connection. Will check and report back

Who knows but if anything I know there's a forum upgrade in the works finally, maybe that will help?

Hrm. Which version of Opera? (Help -> About Opera -> list "Version" and "Build", please) I'll see if I can run across the problem.

If that was happening, when you hit post -- you'd get an error, not have your post succeed and then get shunted back to the main page instead.

Version
11.01

Build
1190
\
Platform
Win32

System
Windows NT 6.1

Latest Java Runtime V6 Update 25. I hope that helps. Should I give you a Hijack this report? I hesitate to just paste a logfile in a public forum. If that is even applicable

Before anything else, try upgrading Opera to 11.11, and then clearing the cache (I think it's: Settings | Advanced | History | Disk cache).

Just did it again when I thought the problem was resolved. The issue does seem to persist on Opera 11.11 with the disk cache cleared. I do suspect the ISP is glitchy. And it is time to re do Windows from scratch.

I only get cookie problems (forum logging me off), if I switch between my two machines at home.

This doesn't happen, if my router logs off between switching machines and it gets a new IP.

BTW, using Opera, too.
