so can you offer a bounty to fix the existing ctd bug that's caused by ripping a pod to a teleport in the sector you're already in

it's really obnoxious

I would think that this would be a great project to get involved in if you were a college student learning to code.

Oh, and Rychune haxxored my Enforcer! :P

NightRychune that's fixed in R6.

These bugs haven't been fixed yet because don't have any developers interested in fixing them up. --Tigereye

Tigereye wrote:QUOTE (Tigereye @ May 29 2011, 06:58 PM) But developers ARE expected to read the TRAC so they know what outstanding issues exist in the code. It's the best way for devs to get an idea of what they want to work on next. The multi-monitor bug was listed there for 7 months with no fix.
Imago wrote:QUOTE (Imago @ May 28 2011, 03:28 PM) the multi-mon issue was never my priority. to this day it's still not marked in trac as an R6 blocking ticket.

http://trac.alleg.net/query?status=assigne...mp;milestone=R6

those would show up as bold red on this list.
So our issue is mainly one of poor communication and not using the tools we have correctly (or differing opinions on the use of tools - TE thinking it is sufficient for a bug to be present in TRAC, Imago thinking it needs to be classified as blocking in TRAC for him to consider it as a bocking bug)?

KGJV wrote:QUOTE (KGJV @ May 26 2011, 02:05 PM) Whatever, I won't add more drama. I've already posted in details last year about these 'proper actions' (share the 'keys', more openness, less ZLcracy, stop hosting on privatly owned hardware, let the devs choose their lead, etc)

You should clearly remember these so either you're playing dumb or <insert your reason here>.
I don't want give a full response here since there has been some constructive conversation and I don't want to derail the thread. I'll just say that I remember them now you mention them, but I didn't remember them because I thought of them more as the way you wanted things to be setup in order for you to return to coding here, not as the steps that should be taken to get R6 finished - two different categories (yes, you can argue that you returning active dev here would get R6 finished, but your changes could also lead to the longer term goals of R7,R8 etc being finished, not just the short term goal of R6 which was the objective here).

Why is anyone mad at TE?
'Ego' is the last thing that comes to mind when they're mentioned, because they aren't an ass, and they don't act like a dictator, at all. (Maybe I need to be around longer? :o )
They've helped keep this @#(! running for years and I'm surprised they can still keep their cool.

As for the bounty, great idea. Money talks afterall.
If that's what it takes to get @#(! done, then so be it.
It is Karnage! Don Karnage! Roll the r!

Hell the money to fix code idea bit isn't even all that new. Both myself and the Fishmeister had the same idea independently, years back. Both of us donated the cash to servers instead because we asked what was needed the most at that time... oh yes, yes I did Fishy I outed you after the fact

^-- from the other topic TE made. :iluv: MrChaos
