You start every game with new tanks or is it like mmorpgs where you build your character?

World of Tanks - Now with more Hitler
no everyone def isnt on the same footing when game starts. you do "level up" your tanks and you learn pretty fast that most everyone can kill you in two shots. then you get smarter and stop trying to be rambo and camp till your baiting teamates (who are also camping) start to open fire at someone, then you join the pack and hopefully out of the multitude of other tanks also firing (and showing up on the radar) you wont be the unlucky one and be targeted/focused on.
Much like what fwiffo said. You have a garage that holds several tanks. You select a tank and enter a game with it. As your tank (specifically, the crew) get more experience, then they get a little bit better - ie you aim a little faster, your weapon loads a little faster, you don't slow down as much when you turn, etc.). You can also use the experience to research new tech (better guns, engine, etc.) and take the money you earn and buy the tech and mount it on the tank. You can also research to the next tank level and buy that tank if you want, sell your old one, etc.lexaal wrote:QUOTE (lexaal @ May 27 2011, 02:00 PM) You start every game with new tanks or is it like mmorpgs where you build your character?
The game has a balancing system, so in random games, your Level 1 tank will only be placed against other Level 1 through 3 tanks.
allegiance has a balancing system...all the better players join the better commander, the not as good commander get's the people that just want to play.FreeBeer wrote:QUOTE (FreeBeer @ May 28 2011, 09:09 AM) The game has a balancing system, so in random games, your Level 1 tank will only be placed against other Level 1 through 3 tanks.

Feels like home.
@Dorj: Are most of the alleg players playing WOT on "planet" or on "gpz".
-I'm currently downloading the gpz-installer.

Most people in the clan are causal, but watch out for the bigger chaps and just refuse to play with them: Jorg and morgan. They're the only two I've heard rage.
I decided to relive the days gone by in my new blog.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you - are you claiming that there is Alleg-like stacking in random games? The post you referred to is about how, in some games, people make the tactical error of all rushing to the same choke point. The poster called that "stacking" because they player end up getting in each other's way and can be held at that point by minimal defense. This is NOT the same as Alleg stacking.lexaal wrote:QUOTE (lexaal @ May 28 2011, 06:58 AM) http://forum.worldoftanks.com/index.php?/t...o-people-stack/

Although initially fun, I too got tired of the imbalance of the game. Its ruled by soviet tanks, and there is not much of a place for anything but heavy tanks.

I don't want that time to be a @#(!-storm of hate and schadenfreude.
I dunno, I drive Med tanks and Arty and have never had much issue with hvy tanks and never feel useless :\Malicious Wraith wrote:QUOTE (Malicious Wraith @ May 28 2011, 02:26 PM) Although initially fun, I too got tired of the imbalance of the game. Most of the clan uses German Hvy/med/TDs and think they're better (although everyone knows the IS4 is the best tank in the game)
edit: ofc "best" just means generally.
