This is like saying Bill O'Reilly is going to back Steven Colbert because they're both Catholics.

Palin isn't going to back Pawlenty. He's not a Tea Party nutjob like she is.

QUOTE (Bard)Small Businesses everywhere will CRUMBLE under the crazy restrictions he's fond of placing on them to benefit megacorporations and big box stores ...

He then went ahead and spent 3/4 of a BILLION dollars of taxpayer money in an already heavily deficited budget despite protestations to the contrary. He was also really fond of claiming we had "budget surplus" without counting for inflation ...

He has absolutely no grasp of the legislative-judicial-executive process and truly thinks he should be the *only* step when it comes to laws and budgets ...[/quote]

Looks like he has all the right credentials to be the party's nominee then.

Ron Paul 2012.

He is the closest thing to an old school Republican we have these days.

...but more importantly he isn't overly obsessed with social bull @#(! like other "Social Conservative" Republicans which torpedoes their candidacy.

I mean the man has spent 40 years in the House pushing mostly to make the Federal Reserve more open (and ultimately abolish it). I'd say fiscal and monetary policies are his main view.

His main flaw is that he isn't that good of an orator... although he is pretty funny with his bluntness.

the problem with rue paul is that he is bat@#(! crazy

also i know nothing of pawlenty other than what i read quickly in a wikipedia article so all that @#(! might be right bard. As you've probably figured out, I like romney. Not that much, but he's the best of a bad lot.

And mccain and huckabee are about as far apart as two republicans can be, particularly on religious issues, yet huckabee backed him just because he didnt want the morman to get in. It's politics man, strange bedfellows and all that. And the religious crazies think they're on a mission from god, so they do stupid things as a result.

Unless Ronpaul runs on a party ticket, he's not getting in. The entirety of U.S. Reddit posters could go out and vote for him and he still wouldn't stand a chance.
The country is too stuck on two-party.

Honestly, I like him too. His laptop initiative while he in Mass. office was a great idea, fail though it did. He's had some other policies I agree with as well but sadly he has the oratory skill and stage personality of an overcooked spaghetti noodle from a 1980's schoolhouse lunch.
I'll be surprised if he makes it past the primaries, which is sad because so far he's head and shoulders above the rest of his party and by far the best of the bunch bearing an ( R ) and running for president this time around.

(edit -- wacky. ( R ) with no spaces gives you an ®.)

I'm pretty sad Trump bailed on us, I would have loved a Trump/Palin or vice versa ticket. Obviously not because it would be likly to win as much as ripe for comedic opportunities.

I say we elect Mccain, oh wait he isn't running, and neither is any serious candidate

Steven Colbert probably has a bigger chance than anyone

Like last time, he will be running in the Republican primaries.... unfortunately the socially conservative wing of the party will make sure he doesn't win the primary. :glare:

Nevertheless, if Paul can define the election with one issue, it will yield good results for the nation.
