I thought you were Big C Capitalists, not small c commies. You do realise that SS mostly goes to a load of shiftless, workshy, spongers, right? You are encouraging people not to look for work, when you pay them to stay at home. That's what is wrong with our system, we reward the feckless and penalise the industrious. God forbid, it appears that you are going the same way!

nice try but SS is for retiring and welfare is commonly thought of as the above. I tend to think of welfare as opium for the poor

In that case I am entirely in favour of welfare. People are victims of their habitat.
