It's Friday
Wow, this sort of crap exists?
I for one, am very lucky to have only heard of this beeper person through hate chants and have no idea who he is. Also this person is a singer and not a made-in-front-of-my-webcam 13 yr old?
wtf?

I decided to relive the days gone by in my new blog.

Remember, what I say is IMO always. If I say that something sucks, it actually means "I think it sucks" OK?

Except the big about dorjan being jelly, that's just spidey's ego.

Don't know if this was directed at me cashto... but it's not about deserving or undeserving based on whatever she's done in the past, but rather I was referring to talent; ie. lackthereof.cashto wrote:QUOTE (cashto @ Mar 21 2011, 03:11 PM) You know, I hate to make judgments what people do and don't deserve based on the first 13 years of their life.
It's not like she was the one that orchastrated this whole fraud. She didn't even write the lyrics for chrissakes. Find me the guy who did and got paid for it, that's the guy I want to see strung up from a tree ...
Sadly, she shelled out $2000 to get that song recorded.
It's disappointing, and sad, but a direct result of society's current group-think. Which seem to imply a quick burst of Pop stardom is some sort of pinnacle of existence which all kids should aspire to, and waste a lot of time on.
I'm looking at you Simon Fuller and Simon Cowell.
Edit:
Mind you if forbes is right, she should be getting a bit of cash out of this

That's actually kinda relaxing. The sort of thing I'd put on while suffering from a hangover.Clay_Pigeon wrote:QUOTE (Clay_Pigeon @ Mar 22 2011, 01:19 AM) Relax friends. It just got epic.

Deserving of what though? She's not on the radio. No one's forcing anyone to listen to the song. It's not like the Internet is some aggrieved party or anything.Death3D wrote:QUOTE (Death3D @ Mar 21 2011, 08:46 PM) Don't know if this was directed at me cashto... but it's not about deserving or undeserving based on whatever she's done in the past, but rather I was referring to talent; ie. lackthereof.
Kinda reminds me of Star Wars Kid. I felt sorry for the guy. Everyone's a dumbass for 15 minutes a day, especially when you're a teenager. Used to be you were the butt of jokes in the schoolyard for maybe a few days, you get over it and move on. Now you get that on tape and the $#@!ing jackals of the internet tear you down for time and all eternity.
Now this girl is at worst guilty of not being able to sing -- not normally a epic or tragic flaw, but when you simultaneously have parents with more money than sense and they want you to make a music video and you go with it because hey, it's kinda cool and at your age you don't know any better. And now for the rest of her life that's what she's going to be remembered for.
This has nothing to do with pop culture or societal expectations or Simon Cowell and everything to do with the base human instinct to derive joy by dogpiling on another's misfortune.

Argh, don't remind me, in Singapore I have to be 18 to drive! (I should be driving by now >_>)

I love watching the dislikes update in near real-time.
For ever 3 likes, there is about 9 dislikes.
However, if that was me I would embrace my suckyness. Because it isn't fun to make fun of someone who already makes fun of themselves.
I love how the slowed version is overwhelmingly liked.

Don't get me wrong I agree with you totally that the way she's treated as been terrible, but the company which let a 13 year old record it for $2000 with the terribad song they offered her bear some responsibility.cashto wrote:QUOTE (cashto @ Mar 22 2011, 07:09 PM) This has nothing to do with pop culture or societal expectations or Simon Cowell and everything to do with the base human instinct to derive joy by dogpiling on another's misfortune.
And it's my opinion (and I may be alone in this) that with constant messages that being a bland throwaway pop singer is a hugely worthwhile thing to aim for, such girls think nothing of spending 2 grand on a pile of @#(! like this.
The other side of the coin is that people have a much higher expectation of the tonal quality of singers, as that's the sort of things these talent shows have concentrated on for the past 10 years..
Add to that the fact that the internet is a big pool of people who like $#@!ing with people cos they can't IRL, and this was a disaster waiting to happen, I expect there are far worse songs around, but this is the one that people decided to pick on.
Here's an example from a while ago in this country. IMO the lyrics are as trite (possibly more so) the singer is not obviously better, but opinions and attitudes to this sort of thing have changed, as have the ways in which we whine.

Of course that singer went on to better things though

Hopefully the Friday girl will be able to put this to her advantage. I hear satan Simon Cowell wants to talk to her....
