It's common knowledge that there are 100+ players online during Sunday at SG time. Yet everyone is in their private matchups playing at most a 20v20 game.
Why not have some fun and put all the squads in 1 big SG? This would guarantee at least a 50v50 game every week!

Squads could each have their own team, or we could just decide who goes to what team in lobby. I think this would increase interest in the game and make better gameplay. I'd like to see the top squads try to go against the majority of players too. Like having RT, XT, and Sysx all fight everyone else.

Would this create too much of a lag issue?
Is the tourney really that loved? (Would people miss their 1v1 games?)

Other thoughts?

I know we've had ZoneGames and FleetWars and other organized multiple SGs. But as of now we don't have any such thing. I'm suggesting we scrap SGs to ensure a big game each week.

I'd rather have 1 big game with multiple squads than have just another 1v1 SG. Might as well as play a PUG...

seriously 50v50 games sound cool and all but they are an absolute nightmare to command

and by nightmare to command i mean i won't even command them anymore because i refuse to deal with idiocy on that large of a scale

Nightmare to play as well. I don'tknow how it is in the states, but over here in sweden the game chokes up horribly once more than 20 people fly around in the same sector.

Plus there are no cores that balances to games that big.

For exactly the same reason you are allowed to post. Freedom of speech and all that. People who don't break the rules should be allowed to post.

Alien - people generally join squads cos they have people they like to fly with in, and part of the fun is being with your mates on TS flying together.

Large multi-squad games don't allow for that. They can be occasionally fun, especially as big events, but not all the time.

These things have been tried....

Squads could still stick together. Or do you mean they can't cause of the additional TS lag?
