Noir changed the name so as to avoid confusion when he introduced his Corvette class capital ships. He just couldn't find an alternative name for the caps so he changed the name of the fighter-class ship instead.

Eh, just consider the name and compare it to a WW2 PT boat. Similar idea. Light, fast, expendable ship limited to missile-type weapons only with the ability to take on much larger targets either through surprise attacks or swarms.

I don't see how that is comparable at all to the WW2 PT boat. Do you even know what PT stands for Rogue?

Nitpicking if you ask me. Even with med shield it's only got about the hp of a heavy int, and same armor class. It's free, and can launch from any base, which is my definition of a light craft.IB_ wrote:QUOTE (IB_ @ Dec 21 2006, 04:40 PM) Didn't read the thread, but small? Its a medium ship.
The most closely comparable real life boat is the Torpedo Boat of the late 19th century era, which mounted a huge number of torpedoes and were designed to be faster and more maneuverable than battleships.
Given the fact that PTs only use missiles, I'm all for a name change.
We've upped our standards. Up yours.
Why, IMO the models look great. The best of the player made factions in that respect. I don't think that Orion is likely to be taking credit for Noir's implementation of GT, do you?Shizoku wrote:QUOTE (Shizoku @ Dec 21 2006, 11:55 PM) Why anyone would want to take credit for that thing is beyond me.
