This is the discussion topic for the wiki article: Basics to making New Style Reticles

--------------------------

Currently the article is work in progress. From here, it says that the centerinbmp.mdl file is used when the reticle is not in line with the target, but I have experimented with it quite a few times and still I haven't found out what it does.

Anyone has an idea?

QUOTE The centerinbmp file is used when your target is "in" your line of fire, and the centeroutbmp file is used when your target is "out" of your line of fire.[/quote]

Centerinbmp is used when your guns are in perfect accuracy (according to alleg engine atleast), basically when the reticule goes green in default. Henceforth counteroutbmp is used when your target is not in accuracy, i.e. when defaults goes red.

not true. Centerin doesn't do anything at all. it's crud.
