There Is a general problem with INTEL be graphic cards, try R6 (beta mode).

The beta is just that - a testing platform. It can't currently connect with our main servers and won't until it is released as the general release. Sorry about that.

How often does this freezing occur? Lately I've been experience much the same thing as you describe, yet I run an old ATI card.

i think it has been worse lately, but very exaggerated when anything graphically intense happens, especially if i or someone else drops a prox, it almost freezes instantly, for up to 2 seconds or so.

would keeping track of my fps help, or is it unrelated?

thx

Hard to say. I'm not conversant in the Alleg code, let alone issues with the graphics engine. I don't know that keeping track if FPS would identify anything - perhaps the data would be useful for a developer, but it wouldn't help me help you without a dev's input. (If you know what I mean.) Your freezes don't seem to be as long as mine. I can freeze up for a dozen seconds or so (it varies) but it does seem related to "interesting events" (but not always).

after some investigating:

Mobile Intel® 965 Express Chipset Family (and the included x3100 gfx), can cause problems with windows 7

a) try vista drivers
b) some modded drivers and tools for a few chipset families http://intel9xx.moonfruit.com/

Unfortunately he plays on phone internet and even if he fixes his graphics lockup he's still going to have unplayable lag.

Depending on the service in your where you are, it's entirely doable. Mr.C did it for a while and could play just fine.

I've done it before as well on business trips. In some cities it works, in others you can't even get the MotD.

His in-game ping is 400-500, he insists his gfx card is causing this latency, not his "3g" internet.
