What is Allegiance?

I see everything about how to download and play, but i don't see anything about it like its background and stuff i just want to know if this is legal or not and is this connected to a software game or something. I'm just curious.

I found Magic Carpet's wiki page which led to the Sacrifice wiki page which led to an urge to find more FPS/RPG/RTS games which led to Home of the Underdogs which led to Urban Assault, which led to Microsoft abandonware, which led to this site!

Oh my god, it was much simplier in the days...

I wanted to log on Asheron's call from the MS zone, and then one day, a new game named allegiance popped up next to Asheron's call(Alphabetical order). I figured I had to try it /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
