May I suggest:

$370 Hp Latop from Tiger Direct

This is refurbished. I have only had one issue with a refurb computer from Tiger Direct, and they cross shipped me a new one in 3 days.

Keep in mind its a single core celeron, and only comes with 3 month warranty. The Toshiba has 4 gigs of ram, as opposed to 2 gigs from the HP.

Its back in stock at newegg, The Toshiba costs only 20 more than the hp with shipping, while having twice the memory, and a significantly better CPU. If you scrounge up the 400$ for the Toshiba i would highly recommend it.

Good points, I didn't check the specs on the Toshiba.

Thanks UB!

Yes, and USB external keyboard and mouse. And find an external monitor at school to plug it into.

The only drawback is: If you keep using an older computer, People like MastaMetz will persistently abuse you for not having "skillz". :P
