The ZLs are discussing Bard as the potential successor to Cort for all things dev.

What do you guys think?
Would you agree or disagree with this decision if it were made? more importantly: why?

Bard has been around these parts for ages and has a reputation for being a strong community member.
His experience with the game means he would understand the gameplay issues and would make good decisions to enhance it.
I'm told he has experience in both development himself, but more importantly with managing teams of developers too which would be valuable.

I've already given the ZLs my opinion. What's yours and why?

The Allegiance community currently hates their sysadmin because he is doing: [Too Much] [____________|] [Too Little]

Without commenting on Bard for ZL, I'm curious to know what are the other choices...

Bard is an excellent choice. Not only is he well respected in the community, he has a very low Drama profile and has a decently extensive coding experience - Especially in managing people.

I don't think the public should have an opinion on this one, I think the choice should be 100% the Devs and not anyone else, they are going to be the ones who are going to have to work with the final choice and if they get to have their say and vote I think it will be less drama overall.

madpeople has no objections :)
madpeople would accept anyone who can do the job and wouldn't cause much drama.

I believe I suggested him.

He gets along with devs and knows what he's doing. He's a perfect team leader.

I agree, it's not like there was a public post like this when notjarvis went up for training ZL. Yes, the ZL's choice effects us all a bit more here than in the training zone, but you will receive mostly ignorant opinions with an open post like this.

As for my ignorant opinion, yes Bard would do fine. He seems level headed enough, and can probably organize people for a more focused goal.

Yep. I still sign in about once a week, I just haven't made a squad game in a while because I usually spend weekends with the wife.
