I was just wondering around in the graphic settings and i found that I can change my hud from default/software to custom hud 1,2 and 3 .

I searched around the forum and the wiki and i found no trace of info on how to work this thing . Since I got alot of custom huds to choose from I could just load them all up and use the one i like whenever I want.

sorry its too small of a deal to ask about

Thanks in advance.

To my knowledge, you can only switch between "software" and "hardware" HUDs while in-game. Applying mods to those requires replacing files in the artwork directory. Could you explain what you mean by "change to custom 1, 2 and 3"?

Its new in R5 I guess . If you go to graphics and hud and click three times the option comes as "Custom Hud 1" . Click further and it continue all to "Custom hud 3". If you use it all your gauges disappear until you switch back to your default.

I know how to modify the default HUD , you will understand when you try it yourself.

Also i found a couple of files in the artwork with "custom1xxxx" "custom2xxxxx" "custom3xxx" e.g "custom1hullgauge"
although i tried putting this in the name of a custom hud files but it didn't work

Hmm, didn't know that. Anyway, this seems to be outside the scope of Helpline. I can either close this thread or move it to one of the Development forums, as those seem a better place to seek the answer for this one ;)
Take your pick.

I added the "Custom Hud X" thing to the code to allow for up to 5 Huds in the dialog.mdl file. To my knowledge, there's no dialog.mdl file that has more than just two since no one has really made a Hud since I added this feature.
