I didn't see this anywhere else here.

I just installed a new video card: Radeon HD 4850

After installing the card, and making no other changes I get this error when opening TS:

Any ideas here? I uninstalled TS and reinstalled, restarted. I didn't make any sound settings changes. I have a feeling this is tied to the card though.

Oops - I can still join the Alleg server but my mic/speakers are muted and I cannot unmute them.

Have you checked for a hardware conflict between the video and sound card?

No, what would you suggest?

I'm using the onboard realtek "high definition audio."

There's a new sound controller though, "ATI Function Driver for High Definition Audio." No idea why my Video card would have that.

EDIT: ALL other audio is fine.

Hmmm, I get that error when the sound interface I had previously used with TS no longer exists . . . .

The ATI driver thing is for sound through HDMI.

I know you listed TS2, but just want to confirm - this is Teamspeak 2, right?

Also, I think that error implies that it can't interface properly with DirectX. Run the tests in DirectX by running "dxdiag" from the Run command.

From the TS forum for future people looking to fix this:

I had this same problem today and did everything you did to "try" and fix.

What worked for me, open teamspeak2 and click ok on the error. In the teamspeak main window, go into settings then options and under "sound devices" make sure "direct sound" is checked and then select "primary sound Capture driver" under device, and click ok. Restart teamspeak2 and it just be fixed.

Stupidly easy.
