Fix this.

Make the change in -ve modifier based on login days.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

RT: The number of typical responses decreases exponentially as the number of joke options increases.

You said if it was shown to be a problem, it'd be fixed...it is, there've been multiple complaints...can we at least open up a discussion on an alternative?

Truth be told, Some newbies currently have vet/inter ranks. So when autobalance comes out and balances these people it will be wrong.

No one seems to grasp that. All you get is people saying, "if these people really are newbies then there ranks will be adjusted if they loose." Well that maybe fine. But does that mean that when autobalance is released people who like to play good games will have to avoid games which are autobalance for the fear for getting grouped with 6 or 7 badly ranked newbies on one team.

Autobalance should come out after we have a working/accurate ranking system. Not before.

Also my post on why peoples ranks seem to change overnight has still not been answered. Go to sleep Inter 6 wake up Novice 4. Why does this happen ?

We can't have a working/accurate ranking system until people stop stacking. The only way some people are going to stop stacking is by forcing balance with the autobalance.

Although the newbies may skew the first few games they play under the autobalance they will presumably lose ELO as time goes by due to not being as good as ELO thinks they are. It's a balancing system that, given enough time, will sort itself out.

Now saying all that, I still don't know why the current newbie modifier can't be based on unique days logged in like the old one was. Any opinion on that Pook? Would it be too much trouble? How much work would it be to change the current formula to an equivalent based on unique login days rather than time since account creation?

I'm not trying to piss anyone off about this but it seems to me that my proposed idea would be better than the current arrangement.

Sure, Misc. Development would probably be a good place to discuss it.

This thread has turned into the usual Chicken/Egg discussion and there's not much use discussing that anymore.
