"no preview available" Map images not auto-downloading
Hooraaay I was useful!
http://trololololololololololo.com/ <- This is the soundtrack to my life. Just FYI.
Hmmm. I only sent the new previews to pkk, are all the old previews still on AU?
Well putting them in my artwork folder seems to have done the trick anyway.

pkk was the one who provided the previews for the new installer. No, they are not on AU anymore.IB_ wrote:QUOTE (IB_ @ Apr 13 2010, 08:47 PM) Hmmm. I only sent the new previews to pkk, are all the old previews still on AU?
Anyway, this is solved and is being closed as such. Thanks for for pointing this out Qjet

this topic got locked but IMHO still not solved : http://www.freeallegiance.org/forums/index...showtopic=56595
These new maps are not on the AU.
Is your solution to DL the updated installer (90 MB) and reinstall Alleg ? isn't that a bit "too much" just to get them ?
Why are they not on the AU (including the server AU so all servers can get them too) ?

OK, I've reopened the original thread, as there seems to be some confusion still.
@KGJV - from what I gather, there is no way for this file to go missing (apart from freak incidents) but for the user to intentionally delete it, same as with the rest of the Artwork folder contents... which is not on AU. I'm guessing, that you have users, who have installed the game from an old installer, missed the time when the file was on AU and now are stuck without previews in mind. Correct?

yeah he happened to me, i don't have these files in my artwork.ogorass wrote:QUOTE (ogorass @ Apr 14 2010, 10:46 AM) I'm guessing, that you have users, who have installed the game from an old installer, missed the time when the file was on AU and now are stuck without previews in mind. Correct?
There are like 'holes' in the AU. Once you put something on the AU, you shouldn't remove it unless it's not used anymore for sure. Otherwise some people will miss them and will have to do a full reinstall (which is a pain because big DL and overwrite any custom stuff you might have).
Moving files to the installer and removing them from the AU is a very bad habit ! stop doing that plz.
The AU is the perfect 'differential' installer , you'll never download too few or too much with it as long as it's managed correctly.

Because in total is takes about 15 minutes per map + extended faffing about with allserve to achieve this. I like to not work in some of my spare time...HSharp wrote:QUOTE (HSharp @ Apr 13 2010, 01:58 PM) by IB saying not on AU he means AU does not care to see whether you have the maps or not. Simple solution would be anyone who can upload files to the wiki to add it from their own artwork folder which should hopefully contain most of the custom maps, dunno why Raveen is being lazy about it saying people haven't sent him maps when he already has the maps in his artwork folder![]()
While I do appreciate the efforts could a stop gap solution be done with just having the template ready for each map and even though data is missing and no screenie but just a download link and map name available? I would be willing to do this if I had access to upload files to the wiki.Raveen wrote:QUOTE (Raveen @ Apr 14 2010, 11:15 AM) Because in total is takes about 15 minutes per map + extended faffing about with allserve to achieve this.
