CrackBaby wrote:QUOTE (CrackBaby @ Apr 12 2010, 11:36 PM) he's right. we should have it so that anybody who enrolls in AFS is automatically on a required draft for squads (they can personally decline) but the squads have to take them and are obviously expected to train them.

Dracus_Prime wrote:QUOTE (Dracus_Prime @ Apr 12 2010, 05:58 PM) I have seen mmo's far superior to this one die because of the sheer number of douchebags in the playing community when the population was already low and the learning curve was high.
I'm interested in the name of those games.

...funny stuff, especially reading it from a distance. You boys do realize there's a problem when the best advice anyone can give to a new player is to take a six-month course to learn how to play this recreational, leisure-time game properly so that you won't get screamed at, stomped on, abused, booted, banned or whored without mercy -- and without even the privilege of venting in the public square? Now what is the average player base for the last 10 years, maybe 20-50 on a good evening, upwards of 100 in the golden era of freeallegiance?

Recommendation to the dev teams. Simplify, simplify, simplify. : )

The whole point of this game is the learning curve. We offer the course because it would take SOOOOOOOOO much longer to learn the game without it. We aren't going to simplify the game because it would no longer be the same game.

+1

Leave it to someone with a callsign like CrackBaby to come up with something like that.
Greator_SST wrote:QUOTE (Greator_SST @ Apr 13 2010, 08:38 PM) six-month course

Dracus_Prime wrote:QUOTE (Dracus_Prime @ Apr 13 2010, 08:58 AM) Well, Alleg has a lot of good points. However, it has a low population, a high learning curve, and a lot of old drunken idiots with no lives that play and bash noobs. I would like to thank Babelfish and TheCorsair for being among the... well the only players that were helpful while learning to play this game......SNIP......So, adios and hope (with the exception of the two aforementioned players) lot of you burn in hell.
LOL, I'm glad you're sticking around Dracus_Prime. It is addictive and very rewarding once you know what you're doing.. but many bang your ahead against the wall moments too.

Cheers,

I have a feeling for every person that posts one these threads there are 2 dozen more that just left without caring enough to post what they think.

I bet it will happen within 30days from today - so, before May 13th.

I'll take that bet, it doesn't match empirical distribution patterns!

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.
