For the XXth time (where XX is a number I've lost count on), I have formatted my computer (don't ask why) and for an unknown reason the formatter on the WinXP CD formatted my data drive instead of my old system drive. 'ROFL.' So I've lost the MDLC on that drive.
So I actually do want it badly, can anyone upload and provide link?
Alternatively you could email me (alleg_falcon@yahoo.com.sg) the MDLC and I'll volunteer to host it on MediaFire.
Although KGJV told me I should ask an admin to put it on the AU and update the wiki accordingly...
MDLC Download link broken!

MDLC is nowhere to be seen on the downloads section.Bard wrote:QUOTE (Bard @ Apr 9 2010, 04:49 PM) Downloads
That 'downloads' page doesn't have mdlc...Bard wrote:QUOTE (Bard @ Apr 9 2010, 10:49 AM) Downloads
And only files essential to running the game itself should EVER go on the AU.
and AU is THE BEST WAY to distribute tools so people willing to contribute don't WASTE TIME asking and looking for these tools...

No, OPTIONAL tools for specific purposes should either be on the downloads page, OR on the wiki, OR in the SVN repository, whichever ONE method is deemed best and easiest to manage.KGJV wrote:QUOTE (KGJV @ Apr 9 2010, 05:08 AM) and AU is THE BEST WAY to distribute tools so people willing to contribute don't WASTE TIME asking and looking for these tools...
I'm not sure where I got them just a month or so ago if it wasn't the downloads page - but I've uploaded them for you:

Why do you asking a question where you already know the answer?!KGJV wrote:QUOTE (KGJV @ Apr 9 2010, 02:08 PM) btw who is managing the 'Downloads' page ? I need all my tools removed from this page plz.

The history of open-source Allegiance is paved with the bodies of dead code branches, forum flame wars, and personal vendettas. But a community remains because people still love the game.

I understand what you're saying, I'm telling you it's a BAD idea because too many people have slow connections.KGJV wrote:QUOTE (KGJV @ Apr 9 2010, 07:08 AM) Why do I even try or bother explaining such things![]()

The AU already gets too large for many people on a regular basis.
It also leads to people being late for squad games when they don't know there's a HEFTY update coming down.
I have the distinct feeling that many people will be late for SG's this sunday because of the CC_09 addition and all of the requisite artwork for the OH faction.
Just to point out that mdlc only changes at the same time as allegiance.exe changes i.e. a new FAZ release.
mdlc is ~1MB, we're onto faz R5 so that basically means since 2004 when we got the code our users would have had to download an additional 5MB at times when they would already be delayed due to having a new client pushed.
