if someone could tell me how to find out the rest of the stuff please tell me. thanx for your help!
failed to connect to lobby
Lets see..
OK, to tell the speed on an AMD processor, just take the last number. So, yours is 2.800 GHz, where as mine is an AMD X2 4800+ which means I have 4.800 dual processor power.
The sound card doesnt matter.
If you go to MyComputer>View system information>then click hardware at the top>Device Manager>and click display adaptors. It should tell you there.
The router should be the box your computer is attached to. Unless you are at college. Then I have no idea.
And, yes, the Internet Service Provider is the isp.

If knowledge is power, and ignorance is bliss, which would you rather be, happy or powerful?

EDIT: i did what u said. it came up with 2 radion 9600 series things. one of them was secondary. which part of the computer is that?
EDIT EDIT: i think the problem might be in the download. is there more than one thing to download? i got the full set up doohicky, but it said something else was needed too. if i need it, could someone please tell me where i could download that thingy?

I'd THINK that the netgear was the router, but you'd have to wait to get one of the better computer people out here. Sorry bout that /doh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="doh.gif" />
But the raedon9600 is your video card. The secondary doesnt matter now.

The community likes newbies just fine. There are some people that can, from time to time, lash out at them, unfortunately.
The 8 week course is called @Cadet and is intended to help you learn the game as quickly as possible so that you can shed yourself of the "newbie tag". It is not mandatory, but it is HIGHLY recommended. This game is hard to play and something just aren't apparent unless they are pointed out. That's what the @Cadet program does. It's fun and you get to learn in a private forum amongst people of similar skill.

Did it say Net Framework 1.1? I think that would be it. I'd try going to microsoft.com and searching for it, and downloading it. See if that works.
Most of the time we are newb friendly. But most do not deal with n00bs. Newbs=good n00bs=bad. We have all been newbs at one time. As long as you listen, and dont trash talk, most will be very friendly. If you read the academy, it will help majorly. And, the cadet course is really fun, and it doesnt take much time. All of the topics are very helpfull, and will save you in the end.

I was getting intermittent lobby connection problems and this link helped
http://www.freeallegiance.org/knowledgebase/entry/9/31/
Onc eyou run that, you can find the address of you computer and your router.
You will also have to access your router -- instructions are basically
1. Open your webbrowser
2. In the address bar, type the address of your Router /Gateway (from step #1 above).
3. Take a look at the IP address of your computer.
4. Make sure your computer IP address matches the one you got running the ipconfig comand from step #1 above.
5. If they don't match, change the computer IP address that is listed on your router access web page.
6. If they match, this is not the problem.
Try to log-in then.
I think Dogbones cleared this up for me -- and I guess it was probably caused by my DSL modem losing power. I still get it once in a while, but this clears up the prolem everytime.
Hope this helps.
BTW -- the community is pretty friendly. The forum is the forum -- vets and admins are cool, even when there is disagreement on some issues. Newbs are not hassled in game very much.
Three things will help you
1 Be patient in joing a team in game - hang in the lobby until teams have a few players. new players all tend to want to join a team first, then the teams are imbalanced.
2. Read the chat box while you are flying and set you wing assignment to command. Reading the chat gives you a good idea of what the commander and your team mates are trying to accomplish. Setting your wing to command allows you to see where the commander is sending the miners and the constructors.
3. Get a scout and load up with probes and start probing. Pickup pods. Let your commander know that you are scouting a sector.
Finally, you don't have to go to cadet, but it is fun and you learn alot of the tricks of the trade.
Hope to see you in game.

Robin: "Gosh, Batman, this camel grass juice is great."
Batman: "Beware of strong stimulants, Robin."

From what I gather, you are connecting to a switch. A switch does not interfere. Follow the cables to the next boxes, what does it say there? (between the switch and the wall)
