Some others are lonely and need somebody to talk to..FreeBeer wrote:QUOTE (FreeBeer @ Mar 26 2010, 06:54 PM) One thing about TS that newbies really fail to grasp: most vets will go out of their way to help you if you're on TS. By getting on TS, many a vet will think "hmm... a newbie that takes the time to learn about TS, install it, then log on... this guy might be worth my time."
How to Have Fun in Allegiance as a Newb/Unskilled Player
I have a johnson photo in my profile since 2010.
It was, and then I turned Voob.Camaro wrote:QUOTE (Camaro @ Mar 26 2010, 11:29 AM) Funnest part of being a newb is getting to the point where vets give you compliments.

So teamspeak is really where it's at, then? I guess I'll have to get it. My computer is already pushing it to run this though, does teamspeak take up a lot of resources/bandwidth?One-Man-Bucket wrote:QUOTE (One-Man-Bucket @ Mar 26 2010, 05:34 PM) "How to Have Fun in Allegiance as a Newb/Unskilled Player, Some Suggestions"

First case of an "old" player not pretending to be demigod of allegiance I've seen. Hats off and cheers!
PS! "Joined: 19-October 07"
Er, apparently I joined in 03. I might have played once in 06, not sure. I seem to get the urge to play, realize I can't pour my life into it, and then swear off it completely... only to come back in a few years because this is the most awesome game ever even if I suck at it and will never be better than a (3), if that.

Not really - the bandwidth is so minimal that RT has members as far afield as turkey and greece on dialup connections that can use it during squad games.Jythier wrote:QUOTE (Jythier @ Mar 26 2010, 05:28 PM) So teamspeak is really where it's at, then?
