Hi all,
I haven't played for a bit.
Probably shouldn't surf porn w/o an anti virus loaded,... but i did.
Since then i got a virus and my computer was fusked up yadayada.
Heres the situation now:
I reformatted my drive, reinstalled windows XP (valid), loaded a new copy of Norton, updated all service packs and windows updates, installed . net 2.0, and directx 9.
Alleg appereared to be installed correctly, asgs seems to log on fine, but when launchin alleg i get this error:
The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\d3dx9_41.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your intstallation diskette.
Before i got this error i got a different error concerning the d3dx9_41.dll file missing, so i tried to find that file on windows update, found it and added it to the directory. I have searched a few gaming forums (alleg and others)- and tried to fix the problem, but to no avail. Any suggestions appreaciated.

Do you mean you put d3dx9_41.dll directly into your allegiance directory?
You shouldn't have to do that. That dll is part of the directx 9 package, you should just have to install the package (from here) and Alleg. will be able to use it.
I'm not sure what effect messing with the dll directly will have....
