So there I am, sitting in a lobby waiting for a game to end so we can start another; when suddenly L1n pokes at me.

"Btw, you gained quite some fame last night."

"Eh? What, award for best nan-bait?"

"Yes."

>.> All I was doing was what I was told: Hug the miners and nan it!

gr4vity wrote:QUOTE (gr4vity @ Mar 5 2010, 05:50 AM) Lol that game was hilarious. Sunny(0) certainly deserves a medal for his selfless commitment as a Miner nan that game. I think Aarm podded the poor guy like 15times in a row when he came after our Miners

You did awesome Sunny. Keep it up! :iluv:
Well. Did you ever see me try to 'distract' the ints via dogfighting?
I mean it was like I was some little fish in a barrel when along comes some bored teenagers that toss a stick of C4 in my little barrel. >.>

Buuuuuuttt....
Gandalf2 wrote:QUOTE (Gandalf2 @ Mar 5 2010, 06:22 AM) Sacrificial nans FTW! :)
:D
raumvogel wrote:QUOTE (raumvogel @ Mar 5 2010, 07:00 AM) No newb would be that exprienced and selfless. :glare:
Two points, oh thou of little faith:
1) I pride myself on being willing to get myself blowed up in a game if it serves a purpose. IE "Sunny we need a distraction." "OKAY. I"ll go attack a different base than you guys." "Perfect." Selfless is easy. Being able to ACCOMPLISH something while being selfless...
2) If you call 'getthing exploded 3-7 seconds after Int gets in range' as 'expiernced', I suddenly question what else there IS to experience.

I dunno, besides capship fights, anyhow. :P

l1ngus wrote:QUOTE (l1ngus @ Mar 5 2010, 09:47 AM) Yes, he got most kills by sacrificing the noobs in their scouts at his miners and shooting the attackers in the back all game long
Yes that did work out pretty well. Grav sits in a nearby outpost and waits for the Int to enter the system. As soon as that happens he launches.
I distr--NAN long enough for Grav to get in range for the kill. Free scouts and a short pod trip, so yaaaay.
IB_ wrote:QUOTE (IB_ @ Mar 5 2010, 10:52 AM) That Sunny guy really does deserve a medal, he rocks. Shame I didn't mutiny our voob comm who was sitting on 30k for over 30 minutes while we had adv tac and didn't get bombers/sfs/sbs. People cry stack, but the way he was commanding he needed triple AS to match wits with grav, which if you know grav is saying something
I wouldn't know what to do with a medal if I had one.

In related news, I'd like to give a shotout to Grav. I've had a few games where the Comm couldn't make up his mind who he wanted where and got ticked off when the rip-less scouts on teh far side of the map couldn't defend the miner back home. Grav, on the other hand, has been nice enough to say EXACTLY who he wants on Miner D, who he wants camping, and lets everyone else fill in the holes.
I remember one of the better bombing runs I've seen (small though that list may be yet) had Grav detailing an exact ship and loadout for everyone. (OKay, mainly "Noobs in scout with nanite and proxies, Vets in ints", but that's beside the point. :P )
As a still learning noobie, having a Comm willing to take a moment and "This is what I want you to be doing until I pefically say otherwise" is a HUGE help. I feel less useless and like I'm actually acomplishing something, rather than floating about.
So :iluv: to Grav.

Another :iluv: to L1n too, can't say enough about a guy who's willing to jump headfirst into a noob-heavy game and help direct the mob. :D

Just pod Raumvogel next time you see him Sunny, consider it a "laying on of hands".

We'll see if he enjoys the holy pod ride home :-)
