*makes executive decision*
The fighting in this thread has tired me out to no end.
I think brand new definitions for the word "patience" were crafted throughout the course of this thread.
Even though the poll is done, it's almost meaningless because there are new contenders and things have changed since the poll went up. So I can't use those results.
I'm gonna do it live and post what I want, and if you guys don't like it the ZLs can overrule me as always and choose something else.
It'll change when I get the files I need to make it change.

Much better, more finished version of what I posted last night

Front page still not quite complete and I haven't done the Learn More or Start Playing pages yet

your bg image is stretching the webpage off my screen (is there some option you can set so it is centered, but doesn't stretch the screen?).AEM wrote:QUOTE (AEM @ Feb 18 2010, 07:02 AM) Much better, more finished version of what I posted last night

I don't think we should have the photoshopped desktop wallpaper on the front page (the one above 'Furious Multiplayer Space Combat') - limit it to screenshots.
The video window is still too small - I can't really see anything happening in the firstperson dogfight, especially since it's in a subwindow in the video. Make the video window bigger.
Also, the text takes too long to fade in and takes up half the runtime of the video, give the text maybe 20 secs or 17 secs, and add more action packed in game shots.

I think you are referring to the fact the left and right sides of the background image will be cut off if you are using a resolution smaller than 1920x1200. This is by design and how most gaming websites are set up. The background image is designed around the layout and it would not work to simply have the background image resized if you can't see all of it.madpeople wrote:QUOTE (madpeople @ Feb 18 2010, 01:57 PM) your bg image is stretching the webpage off my screen (is there some option you can set so it is centered, but doesn't stretch the screen?).
If this is not what you mean, maybe it is not displaying correctly on your browser. If so let me know what browser you are using. I've only tested on Firefox 3.5 and IE 8 so far. The webpage content should all be centered on your page. If the actual content is being pushed off the page, then that is a big problem.

I agree. I just used screenshots I had quick access to at the time and did not have any good actual screenshots showing combat. What I will probably end up doing is have six screenshots on the front page. I'd put three more below the text.

The video window is about as large as I think is feasible for the current layout. I can try to rearrange the background images and maybe make it a little larger, but regardless I want the entire video window to fit on the page for people with smaller resoutions (1024x768 and 1280x720) without them having to scroll down the page. If the video is made larger I'd also probably have to move the review quotes down below the video. I kind of like having them up front, but maybe instead of having them take up space on the webpage I will simply put them at the beginning of the video. I will mess around with it and see if I can come up with anything better.
Video player is larger and video is updated to start with the Firing Squad quote and I changed the music. I also set it to autoplay.
