I haven't checked, since I'm not going to bother downloading Opera, but PKK coded the fix for Opera (etc) and that was BEFORE I PM'ed TE. I have acknowledged the background image issue, btw.

My bad, I didn't follow your progression and you said several times you couldn't be bothered to download the browsers which meant I couldn't be bothered to follow your work. GJ pkk.

All the replies aside. The bacon "live" page was dismissed by bacon a long time ago. You shouldn't even be judging it. TE half read our thread, thought we had gone bat crazy because my life hit the busy @#(!ter every $#@!ing day and so just threw up the old one because clearly this community couldn't wait another week to have a normal discussion over IRC / Skype / TS etc over the pros and cons of each ones using professionals like Orion, Pkk, myself etc

All I'm asking is that people realise this and it is confusing when people say about bacons design without me thinking of the real bacon design not the first concept release.



+ I had so little sleep last night because my troubled half sister turned up at midnight and didn't leave until 3am at which point my newborn woke up and didn't re-sleep until 5am and I started work just a few hours later. So If my replies were brash and I missed a few points myself the same reason applies to that as applies to the reason bacons release isn't done yet: My life is busy and in an unpredictable way due to me having to care for not only my kids but two trouble teens randomly as well. A wife and my own social life, god forbit time for myself.

And before anyone starts ranting about how I shouldn't have offered to do it if I didn't have the time; at that time, it wasn't so busy... I still should have it done by the end of the week though, I have little of the basics to-do before I tidy the code and clear any bullcrap then tackle the background.

I like the way the colors are on bacon's though...

I dislike one of the headers at the bottom of AEM's -

I don't like the putting up of the video on an entrance page... may turn some off, and that video isn't all that great... We as a community have yet to inform myself of really good alleg videos (youtube doesn't have much) so it's more of a "let's make a shrine to my 'participated in event or activity' trophy" kind of thing to me...

Okay, now I'm just really confused. We're voting when what could be the best contending page isn't even ready yet, and the versions of the pages that are up aren't even the best versions of those pages? Then what are we voting for? Close this poll, throw the voting results so far in the garbage, then re-start it from scratch once the confusion is resolved and we can vote on the finished versions of all the possible new pages.

Actually it does. If the poll wasn't posted the discussion on the front page would be still frozen and in the end we wouldn't have new frontpage .

Both pages have ugly YouTube video control. I'm sure that custom video player with beautifull controls should be used.

If you are going to complain about the video control, provide alternatives. Vimeo is the only thing suggested so far and although I'd guess they might let these videos stay up I'd rather not risk them possibly being taken down at some point.

Personally I think the video player is good and we won't be able to find anything better than won't cost money or be at risk of being shut down because they are gaming videos. YouTube is 1000x better than they were not very long ago and I don't see anything wrong with their player.
