Tomorrow afternoon/evening (January 13th 2010 at around 6pm Eastern) the ASGS server will be going down for a few hours for maintenance.

During this time, you will not be able to log into ASGS to join the regular servers or the beta server.
The beta server will be up, however you must connect to it manually using a beta client.

If you plan on playing tomorrow during this brief outage, you should download the beta client now by logging into ASGS with "beta mode" to make sure you have it ready for tomorrow.
Otherwise just sit tight and the servers will be back up before you know it.

Sorry for this inconvenience, but your donations have helped earn us larger and more flexible systems.
They've gotta be installed sometime :)

I think not yet. It downloaded something(less than 5 seconds) and could join the normal server.

Good luck for the servers and thank you for all your efforts for our community Tiger - <O>.
I have a johnson photo in my profile since 2010.

Only those who are testing beta. We have too many testers, so we need to scare them away. ;) Big debug information is big, yo.

PS: We can also hand out the debug database only to those who really intend to attach a debugger.

PPS: When I sent you that, it wasn't with the intention in mind to make beta the temporary main while we're switching servers.

It's all good, cort.
I was hoping to give the community a backup on the beta server but in the end it wouldn't really matter. Few would be interested enough to do more than click "login" on asgs anyways.
One night without allegiance sux but its not the end of the world.

For those interested in the progress of the upgrades, they're finally going smoothly.
I ran into a rather large hiccup that cost me about 3hrs of troubleshooting. I was about to give up and start downgrading/reverting to how it was when I figured out the problem.

I'm sorry the upgrade is taking much longer than I anticipated. I wish I was able to do it during a less-busy time (early morning).

Otherwise the upgrades are progressing. I'm not sure when everything will be online, but I'm planning on camping out at this datacentre until everything is restored.
Typing on a blackberry is hard!

Have a good night folks,

Many of us understand the complexity of what you are doing. And we thank you for it.Thanks for the progress report, and if you need anyone to test anything out here in La La land, let me know.
I still can't get the client to work.I found this in the DeviceCreation.log:

Log closed.

My problem maybe?

Thanks for the update, the upgrades and all the effort, TE. It'll be worth the wait. Besides... the "holiday" gave me a chance to get re-acquainted with other things. Such as the wife. :D
