seems standards change from person to person. Perhaps OMB pissed finger off early in the night. This bann was totally uncalled for. And iirc I got addional bann time for posting when I got banned o so long ago, appears those rules dont apply to OMB

It was less than 45 seconds between the last warning and the boot. And we still dont know who was the other commander or even how many people was on at the time

It also seems as if OMB wanted to command as well depending on the other com

I had this as my desktop background for a good month when it was first made. Ahh memories.

Also Finger is quicker on the ban stick than any other @alleg I've seen, considering Striker has a stick(why, I don't know) that's saying something. He's especially quick against people he doesn't like, this isn't the first time(unfortunately I don't keep logs or have the time to search to back this statement up).

I continue to hear people complain that there's not enough good commanders willing to comm, well no @#(!, if you miss 3lines of text you'll be sitting out for 2hours.

Then have the rules say: all commands made by someone using an @Alleg tag must be obeyed immediately or you will be banned.

Oh no way, Camaro joined a team?

On a different note, I completely agree with Bucket. We don't give comm to the first person who asks for it (For example had it been a newb or Starfire), because giving comm to that someone could delay the game way more especially late night. It causes players not to join teams or just all hop on the superior comm's team. Bucket was trying to make sure a decent game would get started and you banned him Finger, wtf? take away his ban stick as he can't keep it in his pants.

I feel like you all care more than omb did
I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

Well personally i am afraid i will get the next boot for not reading the mind of an @alleg that talks in all chat while im busy trying to get a balanced command skill level for both side up.

OCROURSE I DO CARE OF THAT.

(I guess the same way like much others here talking and/or reading this threat).

Meh

I'll just reiterate the salient points from my point of view (having only just caught up with the latest Drama™

A two hour ban is almost nothing.Whether finger overreacted or not - this should have been dealt with by PMs to BV/Paps.OMB wasn't refusing to hand off to a newb. Commander - P1 has been around for a while and is an ACS grad.Finger could not pick the ban length once he picked the offence.Meh

I think everyone is upset for someone getting banned for what seems to be a minuscule infraction (hostaging, even though he was going to hand off the com to someone else) as well as future repercussions.

Quite honestly, I don't care either way for the ban although I do think it was wrong. One could argue that by not giving (0)'s command when they ask for it would warrant a ban as well. But that one would also get banned for arguing about irrelevant things.

tl;dr everyone go home there's nothing to see here.

I've been an @Alleg for two years now. I have had enforcer rights for over three. It might actually be because I want to keep this game enjoyable for all by enforcing the rules. However, I don't play too many pickup games anymore and I use it more for policing community events than anything else now.

One would hope a simple warning would get the message across to someone. I personally don't like pulling the ban trigger, but I'm more than happy to do it if the situation warrants it. I've got a lot more patience than most people so I always try diplomacy first.

EDIT:
Neo, mitigating circumstances and spirit vs. letter of the rules comes into play when making these decisions. A non-0 stood up to command and Bucket denied it wanting someone else. I just don't see how it can be any more simple than that as far as breaking the rule.

The best course of action would have been to follow the @Alleg's request and then file a complaint with Enforcement if the person in question didn't agree with the request.

EDIT2:
I will say that the warning could have been better worded for everyone's sake. However, this is not any where close to OMB's first run-in with Enforcement. He knows the rules by now and what will trigger a ban. I plainly understood what Finger was asking, but I can see how someone from another country might not read it as such.

I think the lesson here is that better worded warnings need to be issued. That would have solved this problem from the get go.
