I went upstairs about an hour ago, the kitchen and living room were filled with smoke, and the inside of the stove was a flamin' away. My step sons in the living room were like, "Oh, wandered what that smell was." Thankfully the turkey made it. My wife was in the shower and came out wandering why all the doors were open. :o

In an ironic twist of events, this vegetarian will stay home today and clean his guns.
I do appreciate what I have however.

We give thanks to God for all the blessings he has bestowed upon this great nation of ours.

Does spain not have a "thanksgiving day"?

Sindertone, why may I ask are you a vegetarian? Im not being a smart ass, im curious how anyone could turn their back on a big juicey T-bone, ribs, bacon and ham. I would die if I couldnt eat those 4 things. And dont forget crawfish and shrimp. Not to mention catfish:)

Now I like vege's but please, they dont make a meal alone and surely dont fill me up.

Thanksgiving is the obvious. It's a harvest festival where we take special note to be thankful for all the things we've gotten and have. Some people (points to ryjam) attatch a religious significance while others (points to himself) simply think of it as a day to set aside to count your blessings, so to speak. It's also traditionally a day spent with the family.

Meh.

*Passes Sindertone some Dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, sweet rolls, and mushroom casserolle and salad*

We've got plenty of non-turkey based foodstuffs here! Come on down and have a feast!

I do like all the rest, thanks. I was raised by a hippie so I've never eaten an animal. Kind of hard to miss something you never had. I have tofu and tempeh in the fridge.
