I'm pretty sure this has been brought up many times...
But this really really really needs to be done, if we want newbs to play our game.
And I, unlike others, would like more people playing our game. :)

So with that said...
PLEASE, SOMEONE FIX THE DEFAULT CONTROLS SO THAT TO FLY SHIPS, THEY USE THE MOUSE!!! AND NOT ARROW KEYS.

What do u guys think?

Fixing the default controls is easy.

Fixing the training missions so that the narrator's voice matchs, not so much.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

lol the Training Mission?
Seriously?

I remember doing it, and epic failing in podding the Miner Offense drones... cause I WAS USING ARROW KEYS.
I'm sure alot of newbs find the training mission miss leading to allegiance in using the arrow keys to fly there ships.

If it was me, I'd throw the Training Mission out of the game, and just make the mouse the default control to fly ships.

How hard would it be to use another piece of audio?

'Press the arrow keys to turn. Good. Now never use those again. You can toggle mouse control by pressing 0 on the numpad'

If it's so easy, do it.

Present it to the community, and if it works and does a better job, voila.

in tm_2_09 describes how to fly with joystick
tm_2_10 for keyboard
replace tm_2_11 and before it talks about practising turning the ship about you add a quick v/o (cameo from Paps or Lawson perhaps?) saying you can press num 0 and fly by mouse etc...
