You're also a bit disoriented. Look around where you are. ;)

Hmm . .still cannot connect to fazdev lobby without running ASGS. Obviously it's doing something that will let me get to the gameserver listing.

I cannot click on "Games List" and I do not see the motd. is there a file or registry entry that might be missing that ASGS creates or points to when it runs? Like I said, but ASGS and selecting Beta mode gets me in every time.

OK in my Beta folder (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Allegiance\beta)
I have
Allegiance.exe DeviceCreation.log DirectInput.log FAZR5.cfg logs VideoSettings.log

Try creating missing files and running from the beta folder if it's missing.

Other things to try - could select the beta in ASGS and Update/repair critical files before trying from the folder?

Make sure it's really trying to connect to the fazdev lobby and not the main lobby (the data of the CfgFile value in the registry points there). Remember that some builds use the \1.0 key, some use the \1.1 key. If you're trying to connect using the R5 client you got from ASGS, that uses the \1.0 key. If you got a client from ASGS in beta mode... I have no idea what that gives you. Either use the R5 final (internally: RC4) and set CfgFile in \1.0 to the dev lobby, or take an older build (like DB's R5 RC1) and set CfgFile in \1.1 to the dev lobby.

Yeah, I know, this needs to be improved.
