Hey guys,
As you know R5 has been 'blessed' by dogbones and Cort is in the final steps of getting it ready to roll out.
There are a lot of changes ahead of us, so we have a pretty narrow window to get this pushed out the door.
Cort and I are trying to get everything ready for a Monday November 16th deployment. There are a lot of things we need to do in the background to make sure we're ready for that day, so we may need to push that back if we're not ready.
However, with the incoming server changes that are planned for early December, we may need to postpone R5's release until after that dust has settled (meaning late December). We don't want to change both at the same time because any problems we encounter will be more difficult to solve since we wouldn't know if the problem is a result of R5 or the new servers.
If you are a gameserver operator, we ask that you please watch the gameserver op forum for information on how you can help on rollout day.
Helpline folk, if you are able to make yourselves available to ease the transition on rollout day it will be appreciated.
Everyone else, expect the rollout to come this Monday, but don't hate us if it doesn't happen! We're not ready yet and will do our best to be ready by Monday.
Thanks to everyone who works to keep this machine running - developers, helpliners, commanders, and players.
Special thanks go out to the biggest contributors for R5's code: Imago and KGJV.
